Showing up isn't a strategy
Most students treat college like a checklist: join clubs, network, apply to internships, and say yes to everything, assuming it'll add up to something. It doesn't work that way. That approach causes students to feel busy, overwhelmed, and questioning the direction they're headed.
The students who come out of university with real momentum aren't the ones who did the most (although these students do A LOT). They're the ones who knew why they were doing what they were doing, and had a reason for it. Everything else was noise.

In 2018, I was a first-year student at the University of Waterloo.
I did well in high school but never really felt challenged.
I never would have guessed how much the combination of a major lifestyle change, academic rigor, and a lack of guidance and clarity on how to do well in university would impact the next 8 years of my life.
Needless to say Waterloo had its ups and downs. Not because I wasn't smart enough - but because I didn't have a plan. Over time, I learned the game, a had a better experience at Oklahoma State for grad school.
Those experiences - the good and the bad - are why Pippy exists today.
Higher education consulting has it backwards
The other reason Pippy exists is because there is a blatant gap in the market.
When applying to school, there are college advisors, SAT tutors, and essay writers being jammed down 18-year-old's throats. And as mentioned above, gaining admission to college is less than half the battle. So who's actually looking out for you once you get in?
Like most things, you can always D-I-Y it. But with hundreds of thousands of dollars and future careers at stake, it felt right to start offering resources and advice to students who wanted the guidance I was missing back in 2018.
